इस प्रस्तुत सामग्री में मेरा कुछ अधिक योग नहीं है। यत्र तत्र प्रसरित यह आध्यात्मिक साहित्य हमारे पूर्व मनीषियों के अगाध तपस्या एवं परिश्रम का प्रतिफल है जो मानव जाति के कल्याण का हेतु है। परन्तु अज्ञानता एवं प्रमादवश इनके प्रकाशन में अनेकों त्रुटियाँ (अशुद्धियाँ) परिलक्षित होती हैं जो हृदय को कचोचती हैं। जो जन श्रद्धा और विश्वास से इन मन्त्रों, स्तोत्रों, आरतियों, अष्टकों आदि से अपने अपने इष्ट देवों की आराधना करते है, उनके लिए शुद्धता तो अनिवार्यतः होनी ही चाहिए। क्योंकि शुद्धता एवं सटीकता ही पूर्ण फल की गारंटी है।
अपने अपने विषयों में निपुण परन्तु संस्कृत का अधिक ज्ञान न रखने वाले श्रद्धालु लोगों के लिए उपलब्ध साहित्य ही सहारा है। उन्हें शुद्धता अशुद्धता से परिचित कराना संस्कृतज्ञों का ही कर्त्तव्य है, ये और ऐसी ही अनेकों बातें नित्य प्रति मुझे अपने परिजनों (पत्नी श्रीमती प्रोमिला शर्मा, जो स्वयं हिन्दी के सहायक प्रोफेसर का दायित्व निभा चुकी है, पुत्री अर्दिता, पुत्र अर्दन व पुत्रवधु ज्योति) से सुनने को मिल जाती थी।
मैं, गाँव खाण्डा (अलेवा), ज़िला जीन्द निवासी, बाल किशन शास्त्री हूँ। मैंने कुरुक्षेत्र विश्वविद्यालय से सम्बद्ध श्रीविद्याधर्मप्रचारक संस्कृतहिन्दीमहाविद्यालय, जुलाना (जीन्द) से तत्कालीन प्राचार्य पदासीन पूज्यवर श्री हरिपुष्पाचार्य जी के चरणकमलों में बैठकर ‘शास्त्री’ उपाधि प्राप्त की थी। बाद में एम. ए. त्रय (संस्कृत, हिन्दी, राजनीतिशास्त्र) भी उत्तीर्ण कीं। लगभग 36 वर्ष तक संस्कृताध्यापक एवम् मुख्याध्यापक के रूप में हरियाणा सरकार के शिक्षा विभाग में सेवा प्रदान कर सेवानिवृत्ति ले चुका हूँ। आलस्यवश बैठे मुझे मेरे परिवारजनों ने आशा के साथ उठाया तो है, देखते हैं कितना खड़ा रह सकता हूँ।
The contribution of the present compiler to this work is minimal. The spiritual literature compiled herein is, in fact, the outcome of the profound penance, dedication, and intellectual labor of our revered sages, created for the welfare of humanity.
However, due to ignorance and inadvertence, numerous errors, spelling mistakes and inaccuracies have crept into the published versions of these texts, which is deeply distressing. For those devotees who, with faith and devotion, worship their deities through these mantras, stotras, aartis, ashtakas, and similar compositions, textual purity is not merely desirable but essential. Accuracy and authenticity are indispensable, as they are believed to ensure the attainment of the intended spiritual benefits.
Many devotees, though accomplished in their respective fields, may not possess sufficient knowledge of Sanskrit and therefore rely entirely on the available literature. It is the responsibility of scholars of Sanskrit to guide them in distinguishing between correct and incorrect forms. Such reflections were frequently shared with me by my family members: my wife, Mrs. Promila Sharma, who has served as an Assistant Professor of Hindi; my daughter Ardita; my son Ardan; and my daughter-in-law Jyoti.
I, Bal Kishan Shastri, am a resident of Village Khanda (Alewa), District Jind. I obtained the ‘Shastri’ degree from Shri Vidya Dharma Pracharak Sanskrit-Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Julana (Jind), affiliated with Kurukshetra University, under the guidance of the then Principal, the revered Shri Haripushpacharya Ji. Subsequently, I completed my Master’s degrees in three disciplines: Sanskrit, Hindi, and Political Science. I have rendered approximately 36 years of service in the Education Department of the Government of Haryana as a Sanskrit teacher and Headmaster, and have since retired.
Having been stirred from a state of passiveness, by the encouragement and expectations of my family members, I now make this humble effort. It remains to be seen how steadfastly I can continue on this path.
अस्य प्रस्तुतस्य ग्रन्थस्य निर्माणे मम योगदानं न्यूनतमम् अस्ति। अत्र संगृहीतमिदं आध्यात्मिकसाहित्यं अस्माकं प्राचीनमनीषिणां गम्भीरतपसा, परिश्रमेण च साधितं फलम् अस्ति, यत् समस्तमानवजातेः कल्याणाय समर्पितम् अस्ति।
किन्तु अज्ञानात् प्रमादाच्च एतेषां ग्रन्थानां प्रकाशने बहवः दोषाः अशुद्धयश्च दृश्यन्ते, ये हृदयं पीडयन्ति। ये जनाः श्रद्धया विश्वासेन च एतेषां मन्त्राणां, स्तोत्राणां, आरतीनाम्, अष्टकानां च माध्यमेन स्वस्वेष्टदेवताः उपासते, तेषां कृते शुद्धता अनिवार्या एव अस्ति। यतः शुद्धता तथा च यथार्थता एव पूर्णफलप्राप्तेः सुनिश्चिततां ददाति।
स्वस्वविषयेषु निपुणाः सन्तः अपि येषां संस्कृतभाषायां पर्याप्तज्ञानं नास्ति, ते केवलं उपलब्धसाहित्यस्य आश्रयम् आलम्बन्ते। तान् शुद्धाशुद्धतयोः परिचयितुं संस्कृतविदां कर्त्तव्यं भवति। एतादृशानि विचाराणि नित्यं मम परिवारजनैः सह चर्चितानि। मम भार्या श्रीमती प्रोमिला शर्मा (या स्वयम् हिन्दीभाषायाः सहायक-प्राध्यापिका आसीत्), मम पुत्री अर्दिता, पुत्रः अर्दनः, पुत्रवधू ज्योति च एतानि विषयाणि मां प्रति आवेदयन्ति स्म।
अहं ग्राम-खाण्डा (अलेवा), जिला-जीन्द-निवासी बालकिशनशास्त्री अस्मि। मया कुरुक्षेत्रविश्वविद्यालयेन सम्बद्धात् श्रीविद्याधर्मप्रचारक-संस्कृत-हिन्दी-महाविद्यालयात्, जुलाना (जीन्द) स्थितात्, तत्रकालीन-प्राचार्य-पूज्यवर-श्री-हरिपुष्पाचार्यस्य सन्निधौ उपविश्य ‘शास्त्री’ इति उपाधिः प्राप्ता। अनन्तरं मया संस्कृत-हिन्दी-राजनीतिशास्त्रेषु त्रिषु विषयेषु एम्.ए. उपाधयः अपि प्राप्ताः। मया हरियाणा-राज्य-शिक्षाविभागे संस्कृताध्यापकस्य मुख्याध्यापकस्य च रूपेण प्रायः षट्त्रिंशद्वर्षाणि सेवां कृत्वा अधुना सेवानिवृत्तिः प्राप्ता।
आलस्येन स्थितं मां मम परिवारजनाः आशाभिः प्रेरितवन्तः। अधुना अहं पुनः प्रयत्नं करोमि—यावत् स्थातुं शक्नोमि, तत् द्रष्टव्यम्।
